This exam and has the prerequisite of A+ Exam 220-601 "Essentials" and is designed for individuals with at least 500 hours in computer technology support. Users that attain the A+ 2006 - Remote Support Technician Concentration are usually referred to as a Phone Technician, Customer Support Professional, or Remote Technician. The official domains of the exam are: - Personal Computer Components
- Operating Systems
- Printers and Scanners
- Networks
- Security
- Communication and Professionalism
Unlike the previous iteration of this exam, it will no longer involve questions on legacy operating systems, such as Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. Additionally, the A+ 220-603 exam will involve a large amount of questions that deal with soft skills and office communication, as well as some basic questions on electricity and safety procedures. Candidates that are familiar with computer technology but unfamiliar with service communication, would do well to study up on the proper method of assisting customers, coworkers and superiors. However, the exam will still ask 80 questions in traditional multiple choice and multiple answer format. The passing score for this exam is a 700 or better on a scale of 900.
